C’est avec une immense fierté que nous vous annonçons la naissance du Labo Pitchµm. Avouez qu’après une équipe IAM qui a marqué les esprits, il fallait trouver un nom tout aussi fort avec ce petit accent du sud qui nous caractérise.
Mais du coup, c’est quoi Pitchµm ? Tout part d’un besoin simple : observer des bactéries de l’environnement. Et pour ce faire, un laboratoire expérimental dédié à l’observation de toute une variété de micro-organismes et de leurs interactions a donc vu le jour. A l’inverse d’une plateforme, un laboratoire fonctionne sous forme de projets et non de services. Il vous faudra donc aller à la rencontre des brillants chercheurs et ITA qui y travaillent pour élaborer votre projet en collaboration. Rien de bien sorcier en soit puisque c’est le même procédé que l’équipe IAM.

Déjà ça signifie Projet, Ingénierie & Technologie pour l’Univers Microbien.
Deux technologies vous sont donc proposées :
1 – La microfluidique permettant :
L’observation dynamique de colonies microbiennes entières,
L’étude des interactions des micro-organismes avec leur environnement,
L’intégration de paramètres biologiques et physico-chimiques contrôlés,
Le suivi en direct temps réel sous microscope.

It is with great pride that we announce the birth of the Pitchµm lab. Let’s be honest—after a team like IAM that left a lasting impression, we needed a name just as impactful, with that little southern twist that defines us.
So, what exactly is Pitchµm? It all started from a simple need: observing environmental bacteria. To meet this need, we created an experimental laboratory dedicated to observing a wide variety of microorganisms and their interactions.
Unlike a platform, a laboratory operates through projects, not services. This means you’ll need to connect with the brilliant researchers and technical staff working there to co-develop your project. Nothing too complicated—it’s the same approach as with the IAM team.
🧪 To sum up: What is Pitchµm?
It stands for Project, Engineering & Technology for the Universe of Microbs (it sounds better in french 😜)
Two core technologies are available:
1 – Microfluidics, which enables:
Dynamic observation of entire microbial colonies,
Study of interactions between microorganisms and their environment,
Integration of controlled biological and physicochemical parameters,
Real-time live imaging under the microscope.
