Data analysis

Deep-learning, mathematical modeling, image processing and analysis.

Studying large colonies of bacteria and multi-species interaction at scales ranging from single cell to colony scale require a multitude of tools. Spatio-temporal information can be obtained by bright-field or phase contrast microscopy while intracellular molecular information is obtained using fluorescence microscopy. High-resolution and High-throughput information extraction from such large datasets require deep-learning based methods. On the other hand, such information may be used to propose and validate mathematical models of intracellular molecular mechanisms that give rise to colony scale collective behavior of a bacterial cell.
